Brian Carlsen is a talent development expert with broad experience in facilitating training and leadership development programs and directing talent management initiatives across a variety of industries as an internal practitioner and as an external resource. Prior to working with StCCG, Brian led all talent development-related programs from on-boarding through succession planning for TTX Company as Manager of Talent Development. In this role, Brian directed the institution of a wide variety of talent management improvements, including the enhancement of new hire onboarding, transformation of the performance management process, implementing a comprehensive talent review and succession planning process, and designing a world-class emerging leader development program. During his TTX tenure, Brian also directed employee development activities and facilitated strategic classroom training. Prior to TTX, Brian served as the Practice Leader of Organizational Learning with St. Aubin, Haggerty & Associates and as Director of Learning Solutions with Thailand’s APM Group delivering learning and organization development services to each firms’ clients.
Brian spend the first 13 years of his professional career with Andersen Worldwide Organization, an education unit in St. Charles, Illinois serving the training and development needs of both Arthur Andersen and Accenture. Brian held progressive roles starting as staff Instructional Designer up to Education Manager heading up the Instructional Design team of Andersen’s Performance Consulting Group. During that time, Brian spent 20% of his time as a master classroom and meeting facilitator, delivering interpersonal skill training sessions across North America and Europe covering a broad spectrum of topics and working with teams. Brian also participated in IPS facilitator certifications and was involved in a train-the-trainer program equipping Arthur Andersen managers in Asia/Pacific to deliver Andersen’s core interpersonal skills curriculum. During this time, Brian also served as Education Manager on the Arthur Andersen Business Ethics program, a 5-year, $5 million investment to train and support North American college and university business professors to integrate business ethics education into the classroom.
Throughout his career, Brian has delivered a wide variety of superlative training programs as a master facilitator in the areas of interpersonal skills, behavioral interviewing, teaming and leadership skills to learner groups at all levels. Brian is a certified facilitator of MBTI, DiSC, Korn Ferry’s Voices 360, and CCL’s Benchmarks & 360 by Design. He earned his Masters Degree in Business Education—Training & Development from the University of Minnesota, and a liberal arts Bachelors degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
